About The Position

At Valley Metals LLC, a division of AeroFlow Technologies, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions. You can even find AeroFlow Technologies products aboard NASA’s Space Launch System and in the F-35 fighter jets. That’s the level of quality and innovation you’ll be part of when you join our team. We are seeking a Buyer to source, purchase, and manage all purchasing activities related to raw materials, outside processing, and vendor‑provided services required to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures that purchase orders are issued to approved suppliers, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time to support production schedules. The Buyer works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain compliance, cost control, and supplier performance.

Requirements

  • 2 years in a Buyer/Purchasing role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with ERP system, Sage 100 or Epicor is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, Nadcap, and customer-specific aerospace requirements.
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and purchasing workflows.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier‑management skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to address supplier issues quickly and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing purchasing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Manage procurement of outside services including NDT, Heat Treatment, machining, and other special processes required for aerospace components.
  • Ensure all suppliers are approved per AS9100, Nadcap, customer, and internal quality requirements.
  • Issue purchase orders, negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms, and ensure accurate documentation and traceability.
  • Monitor supplier performance including on‑time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and adherence to special process requirements.
  • Coordinate with production planning to ensure outside services align with build timelines and customer delivery commitments.
  • Resolve supplier‑related issues such as delays, non‑conformances, capacity constraints, or technical questions.
  • Maintain accurate data in ERP systems, including PO status, lead times, receipts, and cost updates.
  • Support cost‑reduction initiatives through supplier consolidation, negotiation, and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to qualify new suppliers, support audits, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Track and expedite raw material and sub-contract parts at outside vendors to prevent production delays.
  • Assist in developing long‑term supplier relationships and strategic sourcing plans.
