About The Position

At STELIA North America, we are offering the opportunity for a career that is out of this world! We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Supply Chain Team in beautiful Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is an aerospace and defence company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing and administration. The Buyer is responsible for purchasing and supporting the manufacturing and engineering teams, such as in the purchasing of recurring products, out of production products, and onboarding new products. The Buyer analyzes requisitions, MRP demand, MRO suggestions, transport requirements, and delivery lead times and issue purchase orders for their respective commodity. The Buyer is involved in simple sourcing, read and understand drawings, manufacturing specifications when required.

Requirements

  • University Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in procurement, supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of an AS9100 aerospace work environment
  • Experience with Customs and Duties
  • Experience in managing logistics for procurement
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Project Planner
  • Understanding of an ERP system, prior experience with Epicor is an asset
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Supply Chain Management Profession Designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.
  • Understanding of system generated demand for purchased parts and the ability to verify correct procurement demand before placing purchase orders.
  • Purchase qualified products from approved suppliers.
  • Management of orders with approved suppliers (including pricing, lead time, safety, excess, production line stops).
  • Responsible for Material Risk Identification in seeking solutions before impact to operations.
  • Provide safety stock recommendations based on production requirements.
  • Ability to review specifications and drawings to verify the integrity of parts on order & in inventory.
  • Balancing product delivery dates in keeping with production requirements in order to function in a "lean" environment while ensuring the absence of "line stoppages".
  • Manage the flow of product from supplier or manufacturer, in transit shipping, customs clearing, delivery, release to production.
  • Support Quality requests (eTags) when purchased parts are nonconforming.
  • Support Finance with invoice discrepancy and credit management.
  • Provide long term agreement and quoting support as required.
  • Operational Sourcing and Negotiation as needed.
