About The Position

Verus Research is seeking a Buyer to provide excellent, prompt service to internal customers who need specific and often hard-to-find materials and services. The role supports technical project teams in a research and development environment and performs procurement activities for complex technical programs. The Buyer efficiently executes purchase requisitions while complying with contractual and legal requirements. The position is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is performed in person.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, business, communications, or another relevant discipline.
3–5 years of experience in contract manufacturing, government contracting, research and development, or another business environment focused on new product development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be flexible and responsive to internal and external customer requirements.
Experience buying across commodities including electronics, mechanical systems, printed circuit boards and box assembly, services, and test equipment.
Solid understanding of procurement principles, concepts, standards, and industry best practices.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
Experience with purchasing documentation that meets CPSR standards and familiarity with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and public laws.
Knowledge of suppliers in the greater Albuquerque market.
Interest in additional professional development.

Responsibilities
