About The Position

The Buyer manages procurement execution for assigned goods, commodities, and/or services in accordance with Plexus purchasing procedures and work instructions, and is expected to work independently. The position is responsible for purchasing materials while meeting applicable approved vendor list, price, quality, delivery, and customer-contract requirements. It also involves managing purchase orders, inventory levels, and procurement automation processes to support production plans and accurate, efficient purchasing.

Strong Google Workspace or Microsoft Office skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree with 2 or more years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Purchase materials in accordance with Plexus management guidelines and customer-contract requirements, including approved vendor list adherence, unit price, quality, and delivery.
Make tactical buying decisions and place and manage purchase orders, including order placement, rescheduling, and cancellations.
Resolve nonconforming material issues, goods-in discrepancies, and invoice queries in a timely manner.
Minimize inventory while maintaining sufficient materials to meet production plans.
Initiate corrective actions and escalate issues to avoid impacting the production schedule.
Collaboratively manage procurement automation processes by optimizing and troubleshooting systems and ensuring data integrity.
Determine when to use procurement automation and when to request exceptions.
