About The Position

Williams Plumbing is seeking an organized and proactive Buyer to manage purchasing and material coordination across its operations. The Buyer will work closely with vendors, warehouse and field teams, and management to negotiate pricing, manage purchase orders and deliveries, and ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials. Williams is the Northwest's largest plumbing contractor, known for delivering plumbing systems for complex buildings, from hospitals and restaurants to custom homes. The company is located in Belgrade, Montana, offering a lifestyle with access to mountains, rivers, skiing, hiking, and outdoor adventures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the mechanical contracting, construction, HVAC, and/or plumbing industry.
Knowledge of construction/trade materials and supply chain processes.
Experience managing a high volume of purchase orders and competing deadlines.
Understanding of shipping, freight, logistics, lead times, invoicing, and job costing.
Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office.
Strong organization, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

Manage purchasing of materials and supplies, including purchase orders from creation through completion.
Build vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
Coordinate deliveries with vendors, warehouse staff, field teams, and project stakeholders.
Track purchases, costs, delivery dates, invoices, and other procurement documentation.
Manage material returns and related vendor credits and paperwork.
Support inventory billing, invoice reconciliation, and job costing.
Monitor material pricing, availability, lead times, freight costs, and market trends.
Research new materials, tools, and equipment for performance, reliability, safety, and cost.
Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and warehousing processes.
