Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree 5+ years’ relevant experience or 6+ years of applicable Supply Chain experience, with at least 3 years in a similar supply chain role.
  • Solid understanding of continuous improvement principles and methods, including Kanban, Point of Use (POUS) material, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, etc.
  • Advanced Excel skills strongly desired (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers across indirect spend categories, services, and purchased finished goods, including MRO supplies, maintenance services, facility services, tooling, and finished products.
  • Perform daily purchasing activities, including purchase order creation, maintenance, tracking, and closure within the ERP system to support operational requirements.
  • Maintain accuracy of purchase orders, pricing, supplier data, and delivery schedules within the ERP system.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and issue resolution to ensure cost, quality, and delivery expectations are met.
  • Lead or support RFQs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations for assigned categories, including spot buys, service agreements, and long-term contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (maintenance, operations, engineering, finance, and facilities) to understand demand requirements and ensure appropriate sourcing solutions.
  • Support purchased finished goods through demand planning, inventory monitoring, and replenishment coordination, including developing and executing stocking strategies to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Serve as a backup resource for raw material commodity purchasing to ensure continuity of supply during absences, peak workloads, or business disruptions.
  • Identify and drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and process improvement opportunities across assigned categories.
  • Participate in supplier performance reviews and corrective action processes as needed.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable and suppliers to resolve invoicing discrepancies, ensure accurate billing, and support timely payment processes.
  • Monitor market conditions, supplier capabilities, and pricing trends relevant to assigned categories.
  • Support compliance with company procurement policies, approval workflows, and internal controls.
  • Maintain documentation of sourcing activities, contracts, pricing, and supplier agreements.
  • Provide support for cross-functional initiatives, special projects, and additional purchasing responsibilities as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
