About The Position

EEI is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and procurement activities in a defense electronics manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for negotiating contracts, reducing costs, improving supplier performance, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services that support business operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and 4–6 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in a defense electronics manufacturing environment.
• Proven success negotiating contracts and supplier agreements.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAGE 100/500.
• APICS and/or CPM certification.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Access.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate supplier bids, contracts, pricing, and terms.
• Prepare and manage RFQs, purchase orders, cost analyses, and award documentation.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing to optimize procurement decisions.
• Lead cost-reduction and supply chain improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Marketing, and Aftermarket teams to support business objectives.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
