About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking a Buyer to purchase materials, supplies, machinery, and services for its manufacturing facilities. The Buyer helps ensure supply continuity and timely delivery, monitors inventory, manages supplier delivery schedules, and supports purchasing and cost-reduction efforts. The role works with suppliers and internal teams to procure the items needed to support manufacturing and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Up to 1 year of related experience.
• Basic understanding of material cost management, shortage management, supplier capability, purchase order management, and other materials or equipment buying processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
• Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
• Drive timely delivery and shipment of parts from suppliers to Applied Materials factories, resolving shipment, receiving, and billing issues with suppliers.
• Collaborate with suppliers on demand and supply planning.
• Execute and manage supplier pull-ins and push-outs to meet MRP demand.
• Drive inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchases and RFQs to achieve the lowest cost while considering quality, source reliability, and urgency, with support from a more experienced buyer.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and Program Managers, to resolve supply issues.
