This position is fully onsite and located at our Kewanee, IL facility.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial buying preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and experience with ERP and MRP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in both office and production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Procure assigned items in accordance with material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship.
  • Maintain and improve the quality of the assigned goods with a focus on continuous improvement, eliminating nonconformities, reducing total delivered costs, and improving customer happiness.
  • Work with vendors to acquire quotes for non-inventory materials.
  • Generate purchase orders for both direct and indirect materials.
  • Participate in the daily MRO activities and operations associated with the upkeep of the plant/facility.
  • Work with Manufacturing to build a consistent methodology for the procurement process of components based on demand and min & max inventory.
  • Follow up on the status of purchase orders and review price increases to renegotiate with strategic supply.
  • Schedule outside vendor services and troubleshoot any discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
  • Work with all departments to maintain parts inventory for production.
  • Generate reports to support business decisions of the company.
