About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support purchasing activities within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for procuring raw materials and production-related components, managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring materials are available to support production schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience working with ERP/MRP systems, purchase orders, inventory management, and supplier communications. In addition to purchasing responsibilities, this position will support planning functions through forecasting, inventory analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

Create and manage purchase orders based on MRP recommendations, production requirements, and inventory needs.
Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, pricing compliance, and adherence to lead times.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and support negotiations related to pricing, delivery schedules, and service levels.
Track and manage shortages, backorders, and supply disruptions while communicating potential risks to internal stakeholders.
Support forecasting and inventory planning activities to ensure material availability and appropriate inventory levels.
Collaborate with Production, Planning, Operations, Quality, Receiving, and Engineering teams to resolve material-related issues.
Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, supplier, and item master data within ERP systems.
Review inventory trends and recommend actions to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by coordinating material requirements and supplier readiness.
Monitor purchasing and inventory metrics and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
Review Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and technical drawings as needed to support purchasing decisions.
Assist with domestic and international supplier coordination, including occasional support with imports, customs, and logistics activities.
