About The Position

Production Saw and Machine (PSM), a family-owned precision CNC machining company founded in 1975, is seeking a Buyer to research manufacturing materials and outside services, build supplier partnerships, and improve purchasing and spending. The Buyer works closely with Estimating and teams across the company to secure suitable materials and services at fair prices, with the quality and delivery customers require. The role owns purchasing from request through delivery for steel, metals, outside processing, equipment, and other assigned purchases. It also supports customer estimates by sourcing qualified suppliers and obtaining timely quotes, oversees an industrial tooling supplier relationship, coordinates recurring company purchasing and expenses, and maintains purchasing data in Epicor Kinetic. The Buyer collaborates with employees across the office and manufacturing floor to improve purchasing practices, reduce unnecessary spending, and document savings. Requirements

Experience in buying, purchasing, procurement, or a related role, with direct responsibility for supplier quotes, purchase orders, and purchasing follow-through.
Working knowledge of manufacturing materials and processes, with the curiosity to research unfamiliar requirements and judgment to ask questions before ordering.
Ability to compare supplier options beyond price, negotiate effectively, and build productive, lasting relationships.
Strong organization and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple requests, maintain accurate records, and follow through on deadlines.
Ability to take ownership, solve problems independently, and communicate effectively with suppliers and employees across departments.
Confidence using computer applications and learning purchasing systems.

ERP experience, particularly Epicor Kinetic.

Responsibilities

Research materials and outside processes for customer estimates; find qualified suppliers and obtain timely quotes that clearly communicate costs, specifications, and lead times.
Own purchasing from request through delivery for steel, metals, outside processing, equipment, and other assigned purchases.
Confirm purchase requirements, place orders, and resolve delays or discrepancies.
Build supplier partnerships and negotiate fair, competitive terms that balance price, quality, delivery, service, and long-term value.
Oversee the industrial tooling supplier relationship by reviewing spending, stock levels, and replenishment needs with the supplier and production teams, and identifying practical improvements.
Coordinate company purchasing and recurring expenses, including Amazon Business, Uline, and Ramp dues and subscriptions; ensure appropriate approvals and review renewal commitments.
Maintain accurate purchasing data in Epicor Kinetic, including part numbers, supplier records, purchase orders, and expense account assignments; work with Accounting as needed.
Collaborate with employees across the office and manufacturing floor to clarify needs, strengthen purchasing practices, reduce unnecessary spending, and document savings.
