About The Position

We are seeking a Buyer with a strong understanding of mobile asset parts to support our operations and optimize procurement processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in the purchasing process, from needs assessment to payment, including order management, warehouse replenishment, supplier relations, and support for operational teams. This is a 12-month contract to start with the possibility of becoming permanent afterwards.

Requirements

College diploma (DEC) or equivalent combination of experience
At least 5 years of experience in a purchasing department within a manufacturing company
Fluent in spoken and written French and English
Committed to quality
Ability to communicate effectively with different teams and processes
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Self-motivated and resourceful
Knowledge of ERP systems
A valid driver's license is required

Nice To Haves

Experience in heavy mobile equipment parts is an asset
Maximo is an asset

Responsibilities

Ensure that established purchasing procedures are applied and respected
Research new sources of supply to reduce costs and improve the quality of maintenance products and services
Negotiate purchasing terms (price, deadlines, warranties, terms)
Prepare and analyze cost comparison reports
Issue and manage purchase orders
Follow up on orders with suppliers
Prioritize orders and coordinate deliveries with suppliers
Develop and maintain good relationships with existing suppliers
Maintain effective communication with other departments (operations, finance)
Maintain relationships with internal clients
Analyze and consolidate needs and vendors
Actively participate in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs)
Any other related tasks
