About The Position

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, supplier management, and procurement execution within the Direct Materials category. This role supports the continuity of supply, cost optimization, supplier performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure operational and business objectives are achieved. This position reports to the Global Category Lead and is part of the global procurement team located in Waltham, MA and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Operations, Business Administration or a related business discipline.
Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, purchasing, supply chain, or supplier management activities.
2+ years’ experience in procurement roles, with exposure to supplier negotiations, contract management, ERP/procurement systems, and analysis of procurement metrics.
Ability to travel to UK/US as per business need
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

In possession of, or working towards a professional procurement certification such as CIPS, CIPM, CIPP, NGIP or equivalent
Oracle Cloud procurement applications

Responsibilities

Manage sourcing and purchasing activities within the Direct Materials category, including supplier selection, contract administration, supplier performance management, risk mitigation, sustainability initiatives, and supplier relationship (SRM) reviews.
Evaluate supplier proposals, support negotiations and execute cost reduction initiatives through price management, value analysis/value engineering (VAVE), and procurement best practices.
Identify and deliver procurement process improvements using Danaher Business System principles to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, standardize work processes, and enhance stakeholder experience.
