About The Position

TruCut Incorporated is seeking a full-time Buyer to join their Purchasing Department. This role is an hourly, non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive in problem-solving, and eager to contribute to a collaborative and growing team. The Buyer will be a key contact for purchasing-related inquiries and problem resolution, building supplier relationships and working with department leaders to ensure production flow, cost objectives, and investment goals are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, or a related field.
  • Four plus years of experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to pay attention to details.
  • Incredible organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently or with teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize previous work experience in purchasing to acquire both direct and indirect materials, including but not limited to steel, corrugated packaging, and various other items.
  • Source, negotiate, and qualify potential suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work with MRP data to determine appropriate purchase order quantities and delivery schedules for assigned items and vendors.
  • Request and evaluate quotations, and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines with suppliers.
  • Convert MRO requisitions into purchase orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Review receiving documentation and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor safety stock levels and overall inventory health to support production needs.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, production planning, and inventory teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
  • Maintain and update vendor master data while developing and sustaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Leverage purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements within the supply chain.
