Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 Years of Buying Experience preferably in Sports Retail
  • Minimum High School education or equivalent.
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business. This position will require the ability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High level of integrity and must always lead with integrity.
  • Must excel at communication with customers, employees, vendors, and management at a variety of levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic buying plans for assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.  Focus will be on Women’s, Youth and Premium (Golf, Clubs and Suites).  This may adjust based on the business needs.
  • Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform buying decisions.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Work both with new and existing vendors to innovate exclusive product lines.
  • Collaborate with Ecommerce, Director of Buying and Client when necessary to develop a well-rounded and appealing product assortment.
  • Introduce new and innovative products to meet customer demands and market trends.
  • Work closely with direct report and finance department to develop and manage budgets for purchasing activities.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and inventory projections to optimize stock levels.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to identify potential areas for growth and improvement.
  • Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Work closely with the inventory management team to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
  • Ensure all PO’s are entered timely in Retail Cloud and all items have a corresponding sku.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
