About The Position

The client is in the manufacturing industry and has an opportunity for a Buyer. This position will be responsible for purchasing, including sourcing of raw materials, electronic components and other tools required for custom projects. This is a contract to possible permanent role that is a long term need for the client. This position must be worked on site.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Business or Supply chain or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience with purchasing or buying in a manufacturing, automation and/or heavy metal fabrication environment
• Familiar with machining, fabrication, electrical components (motors, drives, sensors, relays etc.)
• Responsible for purchasing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components
• ERP experience in a job shop environment (Emcompix preferred but open to SAP, SAGE etc.)
• Able to reach and understand technical drawings, blueprints and BOMs
• Able to work with vendors and suppliers

Responsibilities

• Sourcing of raw materials, electronic components and other tools required for custom projects
• Negotiate price and terms with vendors and suppliers
• Track orders and expedite delivery of items when needed
