About The Position

Meet the procurement needs of the organization by effectively handling the acquisition and management of the highest quality goods and services at the lowest overall cost in a fair and equitable manner. Supportive of the Village mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations. Completes training as required by policy.

Requirements

  • High school education required.
  • Intermediate keyboarding skills and knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Intermediate skill using typical office equipment: copier, calculator, printer, scanner and pager.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively deal with difficult customers.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate proficiently to complete required reports, and interact with others.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism, tact and patience when communicating with others.
  • Ability to interact effectively and empathetically with patients and their families.
  • Advanced phone etiquette required.

Nice To Haves

  • One – three years purchasing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Orders supplies and services to meet the needs of the Village
  • Developing and managing relationships with suppliers to ensure that they provide high-quality products at competitive prices
  • Returns merchandise to vendors when necessary.
  • Follow up on the status of orders already placed and provides up-to-date information on them by checking with vendors.
  • Makes recommendations to dispose or repair equipment.
  • Maintains up-to-date procurement and inventory records.
  • Reconciles and approves payment of vendor invoices.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and requirements.
  • Handles stress well and gets along with others within the workplace and with customers outside the department.
  • Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.

Benefits

  • Full-Time Days Pay is $16.00 to $20.00 per hour based upon related experience
