About The Position

The Buyer will report to the Complex Purchasing Manager and assist with daily operations. This role involves selecting, purchasing, and managing products and materials, negotiating contracts with vendors, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Buyer will also research market trends to identify new products and analyze sales data to ensure profitability. Developing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, contract terms, and delivery schedules are key responsibilities. The role includes placing orders, tracking shipments, and resolving shipping and billing issues. Monitoring stock levels, analyzing trends, and forecasting demand are crucial to avoid shortages or overstocking. The Buyer will analyze competitors, attend trade shows, and evaluate products to maintain a competitive edge. Managing budgets, reviewing costs, and ensuring maximum return on investment are also part of the role. All other relevant duties as required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2+ year(s) purchasing experience required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient technology, computer, mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong ability to secure the best prices and favorable terms.
Proficient in analyzing sales reports and market trends.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor degree preferred.
Poultry or meat category market experience preferred.
