About The Position
The Buyer manages supplier relationships, inventory, strategic sourcing, and cost-reduction initiatives to support manufacturing operations. This buying role involves working with direct materials in a fast-paced environment, building reports, analyzing data, and making recommendations for improvement. The position is based at Accelevation’s manufacturing site in Miamisburg, Ohio.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in supply chain and materials management.
- Bachelor’s degree or a demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience with MRP/ERP, planning, production and inventory control, and sourcing/procurement.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making expertise.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Epicor Kinetic.
- Project management, operational excellence, and/or Lean/Six Sigma experience.
Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, components, production supplies, and services needed to support manufacturing operations.
- Issue and manage purchase orders according to production schedules and inventory requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance in pricing, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Research and identify qualified suppliers and evaluate quotations based on cost, quality, and lead time.
