About The Position

At Beauty Brands, we're passionate about helping our customers look and feel their best—and we're looking for a talented Buyer to help make that happen. As part of our fun, family-centered team, you'll play a key role in shaping our product assortment, developing successful vendor partnerships, and driving sales across multiple beauty categories. We're seeking a proactive, results-oriented professional who combines strong analytical skills with creativity, collaboration, and a genuine enthusiasm for the beauty industry. This position may be structured as either full-time or part-time for the right candidate. Who We Are: Beauty Brands, based in Kansas City, was founded in 1995 on the idea of providing a one-stop total beauty experience. Each Beauty Brands location offers more than 50 professional haircare brands, as well as makeup, skincare, bath and body, nail care, and a full-service salon & spa experience.

Requirements

  • Retail buying experience working directly with brands in a multi-channel environment
  • Computer savvy with intermediate knowledge of Excel, i.e., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
  • Pristine diligence and mindfulness
  • Outstanding ability to stay organized and prioritize effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work together effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Passion for delivering results with a high amount of interpersonal acumen
  • Consistently demonstrate professional behavior
  • Always remain objective

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in Retail Buying
  • 4-year college degree

Responsibilities

  • Must take ownership for all aspects of the sales and profitability of the assigned categories. Responsibilities include sales performance, gross margin, inventory, and any financial adjustments.
  • Build merchandise and marketing plans to increase sales revenue at healthy margins
  • Manage all aspects of the brand relationships with our vendors to have positive relationships that help create successful business results
  • Must be able to manage many brands across multiple categories
  • Develop productive and interesting marketing initiatives for direct mail, online, and social media to drive category sales
  • Stay current on industry trends and new brands
  • Pursue new brands or categories as needed to stay current in the market
  • Collaborate with the Merchandise and Marketing Teams on corporate initiatives to drive sales
  • Respond to all field concerns in a positive and timely manner
  • Develop vendor training initiatives to support the field associates
  • Proactively communicate any known issues to the field
  • All other duties as assigned
