Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• AA Degree preferred.
• Previous recent hospital experience as a buyer preferred.
• Knowledge involving the acquisition of equipment, supplies and policies and procedures.
• Ability to utilize Material Management Information system (MMIS) and EDI.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• The Material Management/Buyer is responsible for the procurement of material and services as assigned by the Director/Manager of Material Management.
• Must understand inventory control in order to minimize stock and non-stock orders.
• Must be able to communicate with department managers regarding discrepancies, pricing, substitutes and backorders.
• Must be able to prioritize duties for optimum productivity.
• Able to process and organize purchase orders and receiving documents for Accounts Payable
