About The Position

Ring Power Corporation is seeking a Buyer to join their team. The primary role of this position is to manage procurement processes, ensuring competitive pricing and efficient sourcing of goods and services. This includes verifying purchase requests, managing fuel programs, comparing supplier offerings, and processing invoices. The Buyer will also be responsible for maintaining an inventory of indirect items and researching market information for various purchases. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction and achieving desired results.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-4 years of experience
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures and practices.
  • Computer skills, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office 365, Imaging programs/software required.
  • Ability to analyze varying products and service features, prices and qualities, and determine most cost-effective purchase for the organization.
  • Job requirements occasionally change requiring re-training to stay current every 3-5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
  • Sources suppliers / vendors to ensure competitive procurement, improvement efforts and less expensive solutions.
  • Manages on-site and off-site fuel program and procure fuel replenishments.
  • Reviews and assigns purchase orders from various departments and sends copy to supplier.
  • Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
  • Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders, properly code for general ledger and approves invoices for payment.
  • Provides Accounts Payable vendor additions, changes or deletions.
  • Utilizes and understands Procurement system and monitors compliance across all locations.
  • Develops and maintains an inventory of indirect items.
  • Researches product market information relating to furniture, office equipment, materials, supplies and services.
  • Makes information available to purchasing manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
