About The Position

Applied Materials is hiring a Buyer to purchase materials, supplies, machinery, and services for its manufacturing facilities. The role works across internal teams and with suppliers to monitor inventory, manage delivery scheduling, negotiate purchases, and procure essential items. The Buyer helps ensure supply continuity so manufacturing can proceed with speed and quality, while following standard purchasing business processes.

The position is based in Austin, Texas. It is a full-time, new college graduate role with 10% travel and relocation eligibility. The listed salary range is $64,000 to $88,000. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Up to 1 year of related experience.
• Basic understanding of material cost management, shortage management, supplier capability, purchase order management, and other materials and equipment buying processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to support manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records while adhering to standard purchasing business processes.
• Drive timely delivery and shipment of parts from suppliers to Applied factories, resolving shipment, receiving, and billing issues with suppliers.
• Collaborate with suppliers on demand and supply, and manage pull-ins and push-outs to meet MRP demand.
• Drive inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchases and RFQs to pursue the lowest cost while considering quality, source reliability, and urgency, with support from a more experienced buyer.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and Program Managers to resolve supply issues.
