Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and communication abilities.
  • Supply chain knowledge.
  • Proficiency in procurement software.

Responsibilities

  • Purchasing merchandise or commodities for resale.
  • Sourcing, negotiating with, and managing suppliers to procure raw materials, components, and services necessary for production, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Issuing purchase orders, analyzing supplier performance, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with internal teams like engineering and production.
  • Sourcing and design help with the internal commercialization team for new product development.
  • Ownership of the printed artwork review process.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on quality, price, and reliability, and negotiate contracts for favorable terms.
  • Issue purchase orders, monitor order status, and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available without excessive overstocking.
  • Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and resolve discrepancies or issues with suppliers promptly.
  • Work closely with internal departments such as production, engineering, and quality control to align procurement with overall business needs.
  • Stay informed about market trends, new materials, and technologies to identify cost-reduction opportunities and improve efficiency.
