About The Position

The Buyer will be responsible for ordering industrial components, materials, supplies, and other products as needed. This role involves generating, processing, and tracking purchase orders, verifying order accuracy and delivery, and monitoring inventory levels. The Buyer will also assist with maintaining and improving purchasing and inventory processes, researching and sourcing products across various departments, and inputting/maintaining accurate information within the ERP system. Additionally, the Buyer will monitor supplier performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, establish relationships with new suppliers, and manage vendor communications regarding order discrepancies and issues. This position supports continuous improvement efforts and requires adherence to ISO 9001 requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to negotiate pricing, delivery, and other purchasing terms as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of purchasing, buying, procurement, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience purchasing raw materials, industrial components, or manufacturing supplies preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.

  • Generate, process, and track purchase orders and verify order accuracy and delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with purchasing and shop personnel to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Assist with maintaining and improving purchasing and inventory processes and systems.
  • Research and source products across all departments, including maintenance, machining, mold making, safety, and operations.
  • Input and maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and vendor information within the ERP system.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, pricing, and product availability.
  • Assist with identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative products or suppliers.
  • Research and establish relationships with new suppliers as needed.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with existing vendors and suppliers.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding order discrepancies, shortages, quality concerns, pricing, and delivery issues.
  • Follow up on open purchase orders and communicate changes or delays to the appropriate team members.
  • Assist with gathering purchasing and inventory information and generating reports as requested.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to purchasing, inventory, and supply chain processes.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or required.
