About The Position

At Ford Motor Company, our Purchasing team plays a key role in delivering quality vehicles by sourcing the right components at competitive cost while maintaining a global supply chain. In this position, you will own sourcing execution and supplier management for shocks and ride height sensors. You will work across global programs, contribute to commodity strategy, and apply strong strategic sourcing fundamentals to deliver cost, quality, and supply objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain, including application of strategic sourcing principles (e.g., RFx strategy, total cost of ownership, supplier segmentation)
  • 5+ years of experience leading supplier negotiations, contract management, and commercial strategy execution
  • 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong analytical skills, including cost modeling and data-driven sourcing decisions
  • Working knowledge of purchasing systems, processes, and policies
  • Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities in a global environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to travel as required

  • Experience with chassis components or related commodities
  • Experience supporting global sourcing strategies or multi-region supply bases
  • Understanding of supply chain risk management and mitigation

Responsibilities

  • Execute sourcing strategies aligned with global commodity objectives for assigned components
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFQs, quote analysis, supplier selection, and sourcing recommendations
  • Apply strategic sourcing methodologies to drive competitive outcomes and long-term supplier value
  • Support and influence sourcing for new vehicle programs from development through launch
  • Lead supplier negotiations, including pricing, capacity, and commercial terms
  • Perform cost analysis (e.g., cost breakdowns, benchmarking, gap analysis) to support fact-based decisions
  • Manage supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, and capacity
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, manufacturing, and program teams
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives within the supply base
  • Participate in supplier reviews and business planning activities
