About The Position

NorthEast Electrical is seeking an exceptional team player to join its Purchasing Department. This position is responsible for procuring stock and non-stock inventory products for assigned vendors, following established company guidelines and procedures. The role is based in Brockton, Massachusetts, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The salary range is $28.85–$33.65, commensurate with experience. NorthEast Electrical supplies electrical products and services to contractors throughout the Northeast and is part of the Sonepar group. Requirements

Vocational school or college-level degree emphasizing business, or equivalent job experience.
At least two years of experience in purchasing or inventory control, preferably in distribution.
Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with various departments and negotiate professionally with suppliers.
Organized and able to multitask in a busy environment.
Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency in Excel.

Nice To Haves

Purchasing or inventory control experience in distribution.

Responsibilities

Purchase stock and assigned non-stock materials economically and in a timely manner to maximize customer service.
Follow up on purchase orders through expediting and close-out.
Coordinate with the Purchasing Manager to manage and maintain assigned inventory investment within desired goals for turns and GMROI.
Establish and maintain vendor files, including significant details, and perform file maintenance to keep records current.
Develop and maintain business relationships with assigned vendors and use those relationships to benefit Purchasing and Sales personnel.
Perform other related duties as required or requested by the Purchasing Manager.
