Requirements

• 2 or 4-year degree in business/engineering or equivalent industry experience
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Understanding of computerized Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Knowledge of factors relating to commodities purchased.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in purchasing commodities from international suppliers.
• Basic blueprint and engineering specification understanding

Responsibilities

• Acquires and purchases materials for specific commodities.
• Obtains quotations, negotiates prices, deliveries, and discounts and makes recommendations on vendor’s quotes and services to determine if they are compatible with company objectives.
• Accurately maintains purchasing information in ERP operating system to ensure delivery performance.
• Monitors quality of goods and delivery and communicates quality and delivery issues to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
