About The Position

IMP Aerospace & Defence is a leading company in the Aerospace field, known for being engaging and advocating for equality. The successful candidate will join the existing procurement team, reporting to the Aerospace Procurement Manager. This role involves providing timely and cost-effective procurement, including value-added sourcing and ordering of parts, materials, equipment, and services, while adhering to best supply chain practices.

Requirements

  • Preference given to candidate with post-secondary education with 4 to 7 years’ experience in supply chain ideally in the aerospace and/or aviation industries; or same level of experience in a similar type of complex and dynamic technical environment
  • Supply Management Training (SMT) Program, Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation, P.Log. or equivalent
  • Skill in using MRP system; knowledge of JD Edwards would be considered an asset
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills – Emphasis on MS Office and use of MRP/ERP systems
  • Experience in aerospace purchasing an asset
  • Dynamic and have the ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a very demanding work environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Incumbents must be able to pass and maintain (PSPC) Public Services and Procurement Canada and Transport Canada security clearances
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC - Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Source parts, materials, equipment and services from established vendors as well as establish new vendors as required
  • Implement and execute commodity strategy to support cost, quality, supplier reduction, and delivery sourcing goals
  • Review internal requests, prepare and release requests for quote (RFQ), and negotiate pricing with suppliers
  • Create purchase orders with approved suppliers in accordance with Standard Plant Procedures (SPP’s) and Administrative Directives (AD’s)
  • Responsible for the management of purchase orders in the MRP system (JD Edwards)
  • Develop supplier relationships to ensure all parts & materials meet the requirements of internal and external customers
  • Action discrepant, defective or unacceptable products/services with Receiving Inspection, Receiving and Quality Assurance departments, end users, vendors and others to determine the source and root cause of the problem and action the necessary corrective / preventative actions as required
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies accurately and in a timely manner
  • Interface with key stakeholders in a proactive manner to obtain and provide information, including procurement technical advice in support of overall operations
  • Recommend and implement cost reduction initiatives
  • Work within and promote Lean practices to meet departmental and divisional goals
  • Meet industry representatives on behalf of the company
  • Carry out special assignments as required
