About The Position

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology. The role is a buyer position within the Infrastructure Procurement department reporting to a Supervisor/Manager. The Procurement Buyer will be responsible for supporting and executing on professional procurement responsibilities for primarily service segments related to repair & maintenance, time & material agreements, and equipment purchasing. This includes sourcing, negotiation, and working with internal customers and external vendors to reach mutually agreeable and cost efficient business agreements. The role requires the ability to successfully manage relationships both externally (with vendors, 3PL, etc.) and internally. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with multiple suppliers while representing Samsung in the most honest manner. This role is more specific to project-based procurement that will facilitate service agreements and at the same time working with end users to determine the best and most cost-efficient solutions for the company (subject to change based on company needs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Skills in the negotiation and establishment of contractual arrangements for goods and services
  • Knowledge of costing and pricing methodologies
  • Proficient with MS Excel
  • Clear and concise communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong business acumen and sense of ownership

Nice To Haves

  • CPM/CPSM/CPIM certification a plus
  • Self-motivated individual with high initiative, flexibility, customer service, and strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing, negotiate pricing/terms, facilitate procurement workflow, vendor selection/management, contract revisions/renewals, and regular reporting to management
  • Manage and drive the procurement processes using Samsung systems.
  • Work with internal customers and drive cost efficiencies.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, solve problems, and make procedural decisions and/or judgements.
  • Assess value and product/service reliability relative to cost; plan, organize, and coordinates acquisition alternatives, as appropriate.
  • Follow procurement rules & regulations and enforce onto procedures and activities that support Samsung processes.
