About The Position

Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Buyer/Planner position located in Orlando, FL. This position is a direct hire opportunity which is expected to be on-site. The selected Buyer Planner will be responsible for coordinating procurement and material planning activities to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures the timely availability of raw materials and components while optimizing inventory levels, controlling costs, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The Buyer/Planner works cross-functionally with production, engineering, and logistics teams to align supply with demand and support overall operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Proven ability to manage substantial administrative responsibility in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement, and inventory planning principles
  • Ability to interpret demand forecasts and translate them into actionable material plans
  • Knowledge of bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., D-365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools
  • Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in production planning, materials planning, or related administrative/ERP support roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of electronics specification and BOM experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory targets to develop material plans
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to support manufacturing operations
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages, excess, and obsolescence
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, including order confirmations, changes, and expediting
  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers as appropriate
  • Track and report supplier performance, addressing any delivery or quality issues
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to align material needs
  • Communicate material risks, delays, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders
  • Firms and/or create production orders for assigned work centers
  • Uses critical thinking to ensure plans are attainable
  • Work on material shortages and communicate with the necessary teams
  • Work toward exceeding all timelines and delivery goals for both internal and external customers
  • Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, service levels, and supplier performance
  • Identify and implement cost savings and process improvement opportunities
  • Supports the Master Planner by performing assigned planning and coordination duties to maintain operations efficiency.
  • Provides back-up support to the Shipping & Receiving Department as needed to ensure uninterrupted department operational.
  • Drives continuous improvement methodology for planning functions
  • Reports on defined KPIs
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to 5S and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) policies.
