About The Position

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for procurement and planning activities that support manufacturing operations at the Plymouth-Cheshire Lane site. The position serves as a key link between suppliers, manufacturing, operations, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to support uninterrupted product flow and timely delivery of finished goods. In addition to purchasing activities, the Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing MRP including purchase order management, coordinating sterile load planning and scheduling, managing supply risks, and driving execution against site service and inventory objectives.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing SAP for material planning, procurement, inventory management, and supply chain execution activities
  • Experience creating, managing, and expediting purchase orders (POs) to support manufacturing requirements and resolve supply constraints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, lookups, filtering, and data analysis.
  • Ability to analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts, and production requirements to identify potential material shortages and supply risks.
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers to improve delivery performance, manage lead times, and resolve material availability issues.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, including safety stock, reorder point planning, cycle counting, and excess and obsolete inventory reduction.
  • Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments such as medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly controlled industries.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, Yellow Belt, or other continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory process.
  • Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
  • In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
  • Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
  • May monitor performance of suppliers and collaborate on demand analysis planning.
