About The Position

Mueller Company (Mueller Co.), the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an immediate opening for a Buyer/Planner in our Cleveland, TN facility. This role is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies. The Buyer/Planner will maintain day-to-day communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, system data integrity, and ordering parameters for individual materials. They will also schedule production within the production environment by issuing work orders and maintaining schedules, and maintain ideal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries, while maximizing turns and minimizing carrying costs. This position requires reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of complicated tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude expected. Understanding the dynamics of effective teamwork to attain higher levels of performance, knowledge of lean manufacturing and demonstration of various lean practices, and a commitment to engage teams in other departments or divisions of the organization are also key aspects of this role.

  • Three to five years of professional supply chain experience

  • JD Edwards system experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities
