About The Position

The Production Planner / Buyer at [Division Name], a division of ITW, is responsible for ensuring materials and finished goods are available to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory investment and supporting production efficiency. You will serve as a key link between suppliers, production, customer service, and internal stakeholders to maintain supply continuity, manage delivery performance, and drive cost improvement initiatives. Success in this role means balancing inventory, service, and cost objectives while ensuring production schedules can be executed effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management , Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field ; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Experience with MRD planning systems required; JDE experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, Microsoft Office applications, and business systems.
  • Knowledge of production planning, purchasing processes, inventory management, and supplier management; ability to travel up to 10%.

  • JDE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and procure finished goods and production materials based on MRD requirements, customer demand, and the master production schedule.
  • Manage supplier relationships, confirm delivery commitments, expedite orders when necessary, and communicate supply risks proactively.
  • Monitor inventory levels, review planning data, and maintain accurate MRD information, lead times, lot sizes, and replenishment parameters.
  • Analyze demand requirements daily and make appropriate planning and scheduling adjustments to support customer and production needs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, agreements, and year-over-year cost savings opportunities.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Warehousing, Product Management, and Purchasing leadership to support new product launches, inventory transitions, and operational improvements.
