About The Position
Support production by ensuring the overall accurate and cost-effective purchase of raw materials for inventory and non-stock items as required. Ensure the on-time supply of all materials to meet customer demand following guidelines of desired inventory levels. Owner of inventory management processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience of no less than 3 years)
- Microsoft Office (Excel medium to advanced proficiency)
- Effective use and development of processes used to optimize purchasing inventory (EOQ, cycle counting, Kanban, etc.)
- Problem solving and decision making
- Teamwork, collaboration and customer focus, and ability to work independently
- Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- AS400 and EDI are a plus
Responsibilities
- Plan supply for production materials, MRO (maintenance and repair), and components, following days on hand, MRP reports, and production schedule
- Initiate purchase orders and amendments and communicate with vendors
- Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate process and terms with suppliers; recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness
- Oversee receipt of inventory materials and assist with receiving when needed
- Maintain cost monitoring/cost adjustment system that is implemented and enforced with our supply base
- Report any discrepancy of information concerning receipts of materials or shipments
- Vendor and part number management
- Coordinates and performs regularly scheduled inventory checks (cycle counts) of all stock and reconciles inventory discrepancies
- Responsible for the tool crib area.
- Minimize inventory levels without jeopardizing production
- Develop, implement, and manage the supplier management system; including on-time delivery monitoring
- Ensure all suppliers follow receiving guidelines
- Participate as needed in quality matters, engineering changes and developments between Core Molding Technologies activities and suppliers
- Act as backup for shipping department
- Update and maintain materials module of the ERP
- Collaborate in meeting requirements of IATF 16949 and ISO-14001 systems
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned and directed by manager
- Assist with supplier approval and supplier PPAP processes
