About The Position

With minimal supervision, the Buyer Planner III is responsible for, but not limited to, performing material planning activities in the Demand, Production, and Supplier Planning functions of customer demand fulfillment in order to ensure total customer satisfaction within required timeline, quality standards, and total cost constraints. This position is remote and legal authorization to work in the US is required.

Requirements

  • Previous demonstrated experience in production/materials planning/MRP required, NetSuite preferred (or comparable ERP with rapid ramp).
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral / interpersonal.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions (P/D/C/A).
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, conditional formatting).
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment with strong follow-through.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM or engineering document-management systems (App Chain, Arena, Agile, or equivalent) for fabrication / Gerber / BOM retrieval and version control.
  • Familiarity with distributor stock-aggregation tools (Trusted Parts, Octopart, FindChips) and direct vendor-portal account management.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of time.

Nice To Haves

  • BS or BA from accredited 4-year college preferred.
  • Five years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily PO placement across multiple distributor and manufacturer portals (Mouser, DigiKey, Arrow, Future, Avnet) — including online-only vendor accounts, individual logins, and pricing-tier verification.
  • Maintain discrete purchase orders and Supplier Schedules based on MRP action messages and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Monitor and maintain delivery schedules / due dates in the MRP system based on customer demand (Planning Solutions and Discrete Sales Orders) and forecasting techniques where applicable.
  • Source PCB and printed-circuit assemblies — including new-build vs. repeat-build determination, retrieval of fabrication and Gerber files from PLM, EQ (Engineering Question) workflow with engineering, and stencil / production-tooling orders.
  • Manage allocated-component sourcing (memory: DDR, EMMC, microcontrollers) — including hard-PO placement with primary distributors and weekly expedite cadence to align with customer allocation.
  • Make NCNR (Non-Cancellable, Non-Returnable) acceptance decisions within delegated authority; escalate high-value or EOL parts to operations leadership for sign-off.
  • Identify, mitigate, and escalate supply risk on long-lead-time components — including semiconductors, RF modules, and other strategic wireless / IoT materials — and develop alternate sourcing or buffer strategies in partnership with Engineering and Category Management.
  • Manage pull-in requests and PO splits across multiple build months — including vendor confirmation and downstream operations notification when dates shift.
  • Optimize MOQ purchases against reel / cut-tape / DG-reel packaging constraints; track and re-deploy excess inventory across future build months.
  • Manage Supplier Schedules and the Supplier Demand Visibility application; support supplier training activity as required.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews using on-time delivery, quality, and lead-time KPIs; drive corrective action plans and continuous improvement with key strategic suppliers.
  • Provide lead times to the Customer Service team for Ezurio Promise Date commitments and customer demand fulfillment.
  • Monitor and measure material cost-savings plans and targets; collaborate with Materials Management and Category Management teams on supplier negotiation initiatives.
