A role in Buying means working with several diverse vendors to choose the best product mix, both in-store and online. We help determine where to localize, while calibrating market positioning and acting as brand managers. Through cross-functional collaboration, instinct and creativity, you will be the expert on the guest, the market and the competition. As the Buyer for Lunchmeat & Snacking within Meat & Seafood, you will lead a highly visible CPG portfolio spanning lunchmeat, portable meals, kids and adult snacking, and convenient protein solutions. You will own the category strategy and financial performance of the business, using guest insights, competitive intelligence and financial data to drive profitable growth and strengthen Target’s position in these everyday food occasions. You will build and lead relationships with major national brand and supplier partners, using strong negotiation and influencing skills to deliver results across cost, vendor funding and investment. You will partner closely with Pricing and Promotions to develop compelling everyday value and promotional strategies, while balancing sales, traffic and margin objectives. You will also lead assortment decisions and identify emerging brands, innovation and evolving guest needs that can unlock future growth across lunching and snacking. Success in this role requires strong financial and data acumen, strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex business performance into clear actions. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across Planning, Inventory Management, Pricing and Promotions, Site Merchandising and other teams to move from strategy to execution while navigating a dynamic and highly competitive marketplace.
