About The Position

Kamatics is seeking a Buyer (Manufacturing) who is responsible for executing day-to-day tactical purchasing activities to ensure material availability, supplier performance, and on-time support of manufacturing operations. This role requires strong ERP proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Planning, and Quality. Requirements

  • BS degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or related field is required.
  • 2+ years of tactical Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong ERP/MRP experience; ability to manage high-volume purchasing.
  • Experience with machined components, hardware, raw materials, and outsourced processes.
  • Strong communication skills with excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a "U.S. person" as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15), which includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, as required by U.S. export control laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace industry experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, execute and manage the procurement of raw materials and/or subcontracted machine and special processes in support of product requirements. Including but not limited to obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing and awarding purchase orders.
  • Execute daily purchasing driven by MRP/ERP: issue POs, review exceptions, expedite, reschedule, and manage shortages.
  • Obtain quotes, evaluate lead times, pricing, and supplier capabilities for machined parts and special processes.
  • Maintain accurate purchase orders including specifications, terms, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor open orders, track delivery commitments, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Resolve receiving discrepancies and invoice issues in collaboration with AP and suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and address issues related to delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Support Planning by maintaining accurate replenishment parameters and lead times.
  • Interpret engineering requirements or special process specifications when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for cost avoidance or procurement process improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including visual management and ERP data accuracy.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain and generate spreadsheets, reports, and presentations as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to Value Stream Manager.
  • Comply with Kaman’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Accomplish related results as required.
