About The Position

At Jered, a PAR Systems Company and leader in engineered solutions for naval and maritime systems, our Supply Chain team plays a critical role in delivering the materials and partnerships that keep our operations moving. We are looking for a Buyer II who is analytical, relationship-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting mission-critical work. In this role, you'll source and procure materials and services that directly support the production of highly engineered systems for the U.S. Navy and global maritime partners. From negotiating pricing and managing supplier relationships to analyzing costs and ensuring on-time delivery, you'll play a key role in keeping projects on schedule and within budget. At Jered, your work doesn't just purchase materials, it helps ensure the success of products that make a global impact.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of purchasing or procurement experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Experience sourcing materials and identifying alternative suppliers
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working within an ERP system
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, simple blueprints, and bills of material
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes, cost analysis, and delivery scheduling

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • Experience supporting government or defense manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS procurement requirements
  • Experience with subcontract administration
  • Understanding of PPV (Purchase Price Variance) analysis and cost reduction initiatives
  • Experience supporting complex manufacturing or engineered-to-order products
