About The Position

The primary responsibility will be state property management, conducting inventories, writing reports, transferring property as necessary. Secondary responsibility will be as a back up buyer. Requirements

  • Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment.
  • Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience equivalent to a Buyer I; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in purchasing and one year of experience

Responsibilities

  • Purchases goods and services for the complex
  • Coordinates and prepares purchase orders
  • Maintains state awarded contract files
  • Writes detailed specifications for supplies, materials, equipment services unavailable through State Procurement contracts
  • Conducts research for requests for bids and writes bid analysis and evaluations
  • Determines vendors for formal bids and makes recommendations for purchase orders
  • Trains, coordinates, and supervises staff
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
