About The Position

The Buyer I also handles procurement documentation and stays informed about market trends and cost-saving opportunities. In this role, you will manage procurement activities for more complex orders, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You will negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements and conduct supplier performance assessments while maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers. Additionally, you will handle procurement documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and interact with leadership, suppliers, and external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between functional organizations. You will stay informed about market trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and use procurement software, such as SAP, to manage procurement processes and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically 2+ years of related experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Supplier management and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of contract management and legal aspects of procurement.
  • Deeper awareness of market trends and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Outlook, and ERP/MRP systems, such as SAP.
  • Ability to interact with leadership, suppliers, and external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between functional organizations.
