About The Position

The Buyer II is responsible for supporting an assigned portfolio of suppliers for the Hillsboro site, which builds ion and electron beam assemblies for laboratory and science applications, and dual-beam wafer cutting systems for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring reliable and cost-effective supply chain operations. You will manage day-to-day procurement activities, support supplier relationships, and collaborate across functions to ensure material availability and inventory optimization. This involves analyzing requirements, placing and managing purchase orders, and supporting on-time delivery of critical materials for manufacturing. The position also requires applying analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies while maintaining high quality standards, offering the chance to build expertise and contribute to operational excellence in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in a Purchasing or Supply Chain environment required
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing purchase orders
  • Working knowledge of inventory, purchasing, and supplier coordination activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with procurement or business management systems (e.g., SBM or similar)
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt priorities as business needs evolve
  • Team-oriented with a focus on achieving results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with English proficiency
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field
  • Experience supporting supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of QAD (ERP system)
  • Microsoft Access and Microsoft BI experience
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts
