About The Position

WAVE is seeking a proactive, analytical, and customer-focused Buyer I to support procurement activities across multiple functions and locations. The role sources materials and services, manages purchasing activities, analyzes spending trends, and supports strategic procurement initiatives in a manufacturing environment. It partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, and suppliers to ensure the right goods and services are available at the right time, cost, and quality.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, supply chain, vendor management, finance, accounts payable, or related business functions.
Experience utilizing ERP systems, purchasing platforms, supplier portals, or financial systems.
Experience managing purchase orders, supplier communications, contract administration, spend analysis, or procurement reporting.
Working knowledge of sourcing methodologies, supplier management, and purchasing processes.
Understanding of procurement, purchasing, supplier management, and business operations processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and relationship management capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and ERP systems.
Ability to analyze purchasing and supplier data to identify trends and opportunities.
Ability to work collaboratively across functions and organizational levels.
Continuous improvement mindset focused on process efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information appropriately.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environment.
Experience using SAP, Power BI, Power Apps, or similar business systems.
Professional certifications or coursework in procurement, supply chain, operations, or business disciplines.

Responsibilities

Source and procure indirect materials, equipment, services, and maintenance-related purchases across multiple locations.
Manage purchasing from supplier quotation through purchase order creation, order tracking, and delivery coordination.
Evaluate suppliers and sourcing alternatives to support cost savings, quality, service, business continuity, and operational needs.
Build and maintain supplier relationships and act as a primary contact for purchasing inquiries, delivery issues, and performance concerns.
Support supplier onboarding, contract administration, and compliance activities; maintain required documentation and records.
Monitor supplier performance and open orders, expedite critical purchases, and resolve supply, delivery, or service issues.
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to understand and support purchasing needs.
Prepare and analyze procurement data, including spend reports, supplier metrics, savings opportunities, and key performance indicators.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve procurement processes, reporting, supplier engagement, and efficiency.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, sourcing standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
