Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred.
  • Procurement or sourcing experience in a manufacturing, automation, mechatronics, robotics, or engineered‑to‑order environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project‑based purchasing from kickoff through installation or commissioning.
  • Background purchasing low‑volume, high‑mix engineered components and custom assemblies is strongly preferred.
  • Basic understanding and can use ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Plex, IFS, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, basic formulas).
  • Understanding of standard industrial components (pneumatics, sensors, fasteners, electrical hardware, safety devices).
  • Basic knowledge of procurement processes, competitive quoting, and supplier evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Translate bill of material (BOM) requirements into accurate and timely purchase orders for mechanical and electrical components.
  • Validate and maintain up-to-date pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, and supplier acknowledgments within the ERP system.
  • Monitor open orders and proactively expedite materials to meet project timelines, build milestones, and FAT deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Machine Build, Controls, and cross-functional teams to identify, communicate, and resolve material shortages.
  • Support sourcing activities for standard components, including fasteners, pneumatics, electrical hardware, safety devices, and shop consumables.
  • Administer returns, replacements, and RMA processes while resolving invoice deviations and receipt discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reconciliation.
  • Partner with ERP Data Specialists to maintain high-quality master data, including accurate lead times, minimum order quantities, approved vendors, and part-level documentation.
  • Assist in obtaining competitive quotations for routine and low-complexity purchases to support cost-effective procurement decisions.
  • Monitor and report essential procurement performance indicators, including on-time delivery, past-due purchase order lines, supplier confirmation cycle times, and material shortage closure rates.
