The Role The Buyer for Home at Bespoke Post is a pivotal role focused on curating and developing our in-house brands and selecting top-tier products from third-party vendors. This role requires strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of the customer, product life cycle, retail mathematics, and effective inventory management strategies. With an eye for innovation and quality, you'll align new products with our brand ethos and drive growth within your category.

Requirements

4-6 years of retail or e-commerce buying experience.
Experience working with dropship vendors.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Ability to negotiate and communicate with clarity and confidence.
Ability to make sound decisions with available information.
Comfort managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Willingness to roll up sleeves and stay close to day-to-day operations.
Ability to hold strategic ownership and operational detail together without losing sight of either.

Responsibilities

Own the Home category from end to end, accountable for its growth and for how it performs against business objectives.
Work with the planning team to set goals and strategy for the Home category.
Source niche and unique products, and identify opportunities to develop new in-house products, in partnership with Product Development, that fit with our ethos.
Maintain a consistent standard of quality and brand fit for all products sold within the Home category.
Stay ahead of market trends, customer preferences, and the competitive landscape, and turn insights into new opportunities for the category.
Lead vendor relationships, including dropship partners, from initial contact through long-term partnership.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and exclusivity with vendors.
Set and uphold quality standards for vendors.
Manage the Open-to-Buy budget for Home and ensure it aligns with business goals.
Apply retail math and sound judgment to make informed buy decisions, investment strategies, and inventory management.
Align product messaging and narratives with the brand.
Ensure products are effectively framed and introduced to the customer.
