About The Position

The buyer for this team will be responsible for all aspects of the production equipment MRO procurement process for Samsung Austin Semiconductor. Responsibilities include managing the purchase order lifecycle and overseeing demand forecasting and inventory planning. Additionally, the role involves developing and executing negotiations for supply agreements with strategic suppliers, leading cost savings and efficiency initiatives, tracking and reporting procurement-related key performance indicators, and collaborating with Engineering and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess high accountability and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be excited by the challenge of bringing leading-edge technology to the US market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business Analytics or a related field.
  • 4+ years of procurement / supply‑chain experience.
  • Hands on work with an ERP and overall proficiency with inventory management and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and time‑management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Order lifecycle management, including the need to design/implement workflows for PO generation, approval and fulfillment as well as ERP and other systems integration projects.
  • Inventory management; analyze consumption trends to optimize stocking strategy and execution for high usage items while reducing low usage inventory and eliminating zero bin events.
  • Cost Engineering; responsible for securing cost savings and best pricing on parts as well as leading procurement projects through to implementation and conducting after action evaluation to validate savings and project impacts.
  • Process improvement; define project scopes, establish timelines, and oversee execution to achieve measurable workflow improvements.
  • Supplier relationship management; cultivate collaborative, high‑performance supplier relationships that drive cost savings, quality, and joint innovation.
  • Inter-department collaboration; coordinate effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics and other stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.
