We have an opportunity for a Buyer Analyst to join our Hanover Park, IL team. You will interact heavily with vendors in purchasing product and problem resolution, managing the replenishment cycle and analyzing its performance.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to 2 years of college or comparable work experience in a business-related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing required.
  • Experienced with commercial ERP software.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and other data analytical tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Ability to interpret and understand multi-level bills of material.
  • Must be detail oriented, have good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Conversant in the legal aspects of purchasing including contracts and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactive with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to change.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Purchasing experience within OEM or related field is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Place and track purchase orders for inventory and non-inventory parts.
  • Create orders consistent with PFEP and provide visibility to exceptions.
  • Manage day-to-day purchasing operations.
  • Negotiate the release of all purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet production requirements and achieve monthly/annual inventory targets.
  • Review inventory levels and issue/modify orders for stock replenishment applying best practices for inventory reduction and inventory optimization.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on material requirements.
  • Process non-confirming material back to suppliers.
  • Follow up on critical shipments to ensure timely arrival at our dock.
  • Support supplier transition initiatives ensuring no disruption to supply of parts during transition.
  • Support new product roll out by assisting in establishing the supply chain for the new product.
  • Maintain confidential company information.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes and Kaizen events.
