About The Position

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Buyer for Aerospace Components to join their Procurement Team. This role is crucial in building highly engineered aircraft by shaping supplier strategy and influencing the success of critical aerospace programs. The primary focus is on procurement execution and supplier coordination for commodities such as hardware, standard aerospace parts, consumables, indirect goods and services, and lower-complexity production and operational materials. The buyer will execute purchase orders, solicit quotes, conduct bid evaluations, negotiate pricing and delivery, monitor supplier performance, maintain procurement records, and support internal customers. This position is based in Lincoln, CA and is an onsite role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of Procurement, supply chain or related experience required.
  • Experience soliciting supplier quotations, evaluating bids, issuing purchase orders, and managing supplier performance.
  • Ability to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms while supporting quality and operational objectives.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Aviation procurement experience preferred.
  • Master's Degree may offset 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Executes purchase orders and routine sourcing activities
  • Solicits quotes and conducts bid evaluations
  • Negotiates pricing and delivery within established guidelines
  • Monitors supplier quality, delivery, and cost performance
  • Maintains procurement records and audit compliance
  • Supports internal customers and operational requirements
  • May assist with planning and reviewing work of procurement specialists when appropriate
  • Develops sources of supply and obtains information from suppliers concerning product and/or service specifications, price, delivery dates, etc. and ensures all applicable data is current at supplier.
  • Prepares definitive purchase orders, including terms and conditions, makes award, administers contracts with suppliers within budgetary limitations, and ensures schedules are met.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with AS9100, ITAR, and other aerospace standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and support audits and reporting requirements.
  • Assists in planning and reviewing the work of Procurement Spec, where appropriate.
