Requirements

  • Supervise daily butcher block and fresh meat operations.
  • Ensure meat products are properly cut, packaged, labeled, displayed, and stocked according to company standards.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with production planning and execution to meet customer demand while minimizing waste.
  • Ensure department displays are attractive, well-stocked, and sales-driven.
  • Support implementation of promotions, seasonal programs, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management activities.
  • Ensure proper product rotation using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Minimize shrink through proper handling, storage, production planning, and inventory control.
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist with audits as required.
  • Maintain accurate department records and documentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
  • Assist customers with product selection, special cuts, custom orders, and preparation recommendations.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a customer-focused environment that supports sales growth and customer loyalty.
  • Ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable assistance.
  • Provide daily supervision, coaching, and support to department associates.
  • Train associates on cutting standards, food safety procedures, merchandising practices, and customer service expectations.
  • Monitor employee productivity and quality standards.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Assist with scheduling and labor management initiatives.
  • Assume department leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Meat Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor proper storage temperatures, product dating, labeling, and handling procedures.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure safe operation of meat processing equipment and tools.
  • Promote workplace safety and immediately address safety concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and operating procedures.
  • Assist in achieving departmental sales, gross profit, labor, and shrink goals.
  • Support labor productivity and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Monitor department performance metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Help maximize product yield and profitability through proper production practices.
  • Contribute to overall department and store performance objectives.
