The Butcher Associate is responsible for preparing, cutting, packaging, and displaying meat products while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of meat handling procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous butcher, meat cutter, deli, grocery, or food service experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and food safety standards
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments
  • Ability to safely use knives and meat processing equipment
  • Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
  • Comfortable working with sharp tools and cold temperatures

Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, debone, grind, and prepare meat products according to company standards
  • Package, label, and price products for display and sale
  • Maintain attractive and fully stocked meat displays
  • Assist customers with product selection, special orders, and cooking recommendations
  • Operate meat processing equipment safely, including slicers, grinders, and saws
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock or product issues
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment regularly
  • Receive and properly store deliveries in refrigerated and frozen storage areas
  • Work collaboratively with team members and management to meet department goals
